چکیده

Let G be a complex reductive group. A normal G-variety X is called spherical if a Borel subgroup of G has a dense orbit in X. Of particular interest are spherical varieties which are smooth and affine since they form local models for multiplicity free Hamiltonian Kmanifolds, K a maximal compact subgroup of G. In this paper, we classify all smooth affine spherical varieties up to coverings, central tori, and C×-fibrations.

Uniqueness Properties for Spherical Varieties

The goal of these lectures is to explain speaker’s results on uniqueness properties of spherical varieties. By a uniqueness property we mean the following. Consider some special class of spherical varieties. Define some combinatorial invariants for spherical varieties from this class. The problem is to determine whether this set of invariants specifies a spherical variety in this class uniquely...

Proof of the Knop Conjecture

In this paper we prove the Knop conjecture asserting that two smooth affine spherical varieties with the same weight monoids are equivariantly isomorphic.

Smooth and palindromic Schubert varieties in affine Grassmannians

We completely determine the smooth and palindromic Schubert varieties in affine Grassmannians, in all Lie types. We show that an affine Schubert variety is smooth if and only if it is a closed parabolic orbit. In particular, there are only finitely many smooth affine Schubert varieties in a given Lie type. An affine Schubert variety is palindromic if and only if it is a closed parabolic orbit, ...

Equivariant Embeddings into Smooth Toric Varieties

We characterize embeddability of algebraic varieties into smooth toric varieties and prevarieties. Our embedding results hold also in an equivariant context and thus generalize a well-known embedding theorem of Sumihiro on quasiprojective G-varieties. The main idea is to reduce the embedding problem to the affine case. This is done by constructing equivariant affine conoids, a tool which extend...

Boundedness of Spherical Fano Varieties

Classically, G. Fano proved that the family of (smooth, anticanonically embedded) Fano 3-dimensional varieties is bounded, and moreover provided their classification, later completed by V.A. Iskovskikh, S. Mukai and S. Mori. For singular Fano varieties with log terminal singularities, there are two basic boundedness conjectures: Index Boundedness and the much stronger ǫ-lt Boundedness. The ǫ-lt...
